Text Box: MONTH OF MAY This month is dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary. The Crowning of Mary takes place during the 9:30 AM Holy Mass on the First Friday, May 1, and at the 10:30 AM Holy Mass on Sunday, May 3rd. Every morning after the 8:00 AM Holy Mass, we shall recite the Litany to the Blessed Virgin Mary, followed by Benediction. PLEASE COME AND JOIN US. BLESSING OF EXPECTANT MOTHERS Will take place next weekend, Saturday, May 2, at 5:00 PM, and Sunday, May 3, at the 8:30 AM and 10:30 AM Masses. FIRST THURSDAY, FRIDAY & SATURDAY This week we celebrate the Thursday before First Friday on April 30, a day of special prayer for our priests, religious & seminarians. After the 6:00 PM Holy Mass, we expose the Blessed Sacrament and celebrate HOLY HOUR. On First Friday, May 1, after the Holy Masses, we expose the Blessed Sacrament and recite the Litany to the Sacred Heart, followed by Benediction. An extra Mass for home-schooling children & their parents will be at 9:30 AM. The Crowning of Mary takes place during that Mass. Other parishioners are also welcome to come, and to pray with us if they have time. On First Saturday, May 2, after the 8:00 AM Mass, there will be Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, and the Litany to the Blessed Virgin Mary will be recited. Text Box: Sunday Scripture Redeemed by Jesus, we are to turn from sin and ask for forgiveness when we fail, that we may be saved. Through the Paschal Mystery, Jesus saved the world from sin and death. As a redeemed people and followers of Jesus, we strive to live by his commandments: to love God and love our neighbor. However, Jesus understands our weaknesses, gives us the Holy Spirit to strengthen us, and assures us that we will be forgiven if we repent. In today’s first reading, Peter charges his listeners to repent and reform their lives. The Letter of John echoes this message, and tells the disciples to keep Christ’s commandments. In the Gospel, Jesus appears to the disciples and assures them that he has truly risen from the dead, as Scripture had prophesied. He then prepares them to carry on his ministry.
