Text Box: Sunday Scripture

When we doubt, we are to persist in faith, seeking the truth and opening ourselves to God's grace. To question and doubt is okay, as long as we do not stay in such a state. By persisting in faith and seeking the truth, we can resolve our doubts and grow in our spirituality. If we look through the lens of faith, we can come to a deeper and clearer understanding of the truth, and open ourselves to God's grace to help us see His goodness.
The death of Jesus scattered His disciples, but His Resurrection united them into a true community of believers, as told in the first reading. We are told in the second reading that those who are begotten by God can conquer the world. In the Gospel, Thomas doubted, but that doubt was resolved by the appearance of the Risen Jesus.
