Sunday Scripture

We must not let resistance or opposition from others deter us from being faithful to God. The twelve Apostles faced opposition and resistance as they preached the Gospel. Even after being ordered by Jewish authorities to stop, they continued teaching and preaching because they knew it was more important to obey God. Similarly, we will encounter opposition as we strive to follow Jesus but we must not let it deter us. The first reading recounts how the Apostles rejoiced in being found worthy to suffer dishonor for the sake of their faith in Jesus. Revelation tells of all creatures in heaven and on earth joining together to praise and bless God. The Gospel recalls how Jesus revealed himself to his disciples at the Sea of Tiberias.
