WORLD DAY OF PRAYER FOR VOCATIONS Each year, World Day of Prayer for Vocations is held on the 4th Sunday of Easter. This year it is today; on April 13th. In 1963, Pope Paul VI designated this day as World Day of Prayer for Vocations. During our weekend Masses, we will pray especially for those men and women who have served, and are serving, God’s people as priests, deacons, religious sisters and brothers, and that many more will join them. Today, on April 13th, we invite you take some time to think of someone (a family member, friend, or parishioner) whom God may be calling to join the next generation of priests, sisters or brothers. Pray for that person during that week. The Thursday before the First Friday of each month in our church at 7:00PM during Holy Hour, we pray for our priests, religious & seminarians and for the new |

Sunday Scripture Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. Jesus has given his followers some hard sayings, including the directive to eat his Flesh and drink his Blood. Jesus says we must trust him and follow his ways, even when we do not fully understand them. Peter’s statement to Jesus gives us an example of his trust, proclaiming that there is no one better to whom we can turn than Jesus. The first reading, from Acts, tells of Peter’s healing of Aeneas and then raising back to life the woman at Joppa. Jesus, in the gospel passage, speaks of the Spirit that gives life, and in this way, helps to prepare the disciples for the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. |
